So we made it home safe! Suprisingly, neither of us got any speeding tickets over the 5,000+ miles we drove during the trip. Tuesday afternoon we dropped the Ford Escape and caught a short flight back to Los Angeles. With all the driving, I grew somewhat attached to the mid sized SUV. With our stay in New Mexico coming to a close, we decided it was time to fill up the gas tank before heading off to Lubbock, Texas. So we headed over to the Ready Mart to fill up, popped in the pump and let ‘er ride. After grabbing some Fuze green tea from inside, I returned remove the nozzle. Little did I know this shit hole gas station had overfilled our tank. I gave the nozzle a pull and it didn’t budge so I yanked it and BAM!!! Ok. So normally I am a really calm and focussed driver. But these past few days in San Fran have been getting my blood boiling. I understand. The streets of Frisco may possibly be some of the most confusing in the world. Compound that with baffled tourists like myself, and a 5 minute drive turns into a 45 minute hellride. Before driving in this city I had used a car horn two times in the past 5 years. In two days here I already tripled that. More…

It’s amazing how fast time flies when you’re eating hot dog buns—- I mean, times flies when you’re hanging with nuns— No wait, neither of those are right. Hmph, the long day is getting to me. Me and Oysta finally met up today and we’re preparing ourselves for this imminent trip by laying around and drinking cervesas, discussing the turmoils of world-hunger and poverty. Talk about hard-earned preparation, but I feel like I owe it to myself to have a Corona or six every once in a while. Good for the soul, sorta like chicken soup.
